THE COSMOSONICS "Junk Rock... For Lovers"
$14.99 (Currency Conversion)
What is it about steel towns that makes them a breeding ground for GREAT rock n roll? Actually, the band defines their sound as Junk Rock.. glampunkmetalpopblues. Whatever you want to call it, it sounds f#ckin' eh in my books!
THE COSMOSONICS hail from Pittsburgh, PA where they are a staple on the local club scene as well as regulars along the Eastern Seaboard. This cd has been described as an 'unapologetic, bombastic, raunchy ride - nothing melancholy or depressing here - bursting with Rock anthems'.
Rave It Up says it all... Hey, hey if you want to play, its rock n roll baby, so bombs away...
Bring it on boys! (Details)

TUNTURIA "MAPS"
$14.99 (Currency Conversion)
I would not typically consider myself a fan of post-rock, ambient, soundscape albums. Most people would describe me as an old school rock n roller with a penchant for 3 chords...
Having said that, I really got into this album which was passed to me by the drummer Michael Lynch. It has lots of guitar (which suits me fine) along with great grooves, excellent synth and samples, and nice production.
MAPS is thematic and moving - and definitely feels expansive - easily living up to the bands name TUNTURIA which means "treeless plain" in Finn. Think Tundra and you will get the drift.
Great for late at night, driving, relaxing and letting your mind roam free. Click on DETAILS to get a great review from "The Silent Ballet" (9/10) (Details)

KC ROBERTS "KC Roberts & the Live Revolution - Special Edition Festival Pre-Release 2007"
$14.99 (Currency Conversion)
KC Roberts is a towering presence in Toronto's live funk, soul, hip-hop scene. Being 6'7" certainly helps, but it is the music and the party that inevitably follows that he is best known for.
This 7 song collection is a special release that KC put together during the summer of 2007, to provide a bridge between 2005's It All Went Down LP and the upcoming full length Parkdale Funk.
If you need a pick-me-up this is it. KC Roberts live will move you and put a smile on your face! Crank it and feel the groove! (Details)

KC ROBERTS "KC Roberts & the Raw Blue - It All Went Down LP"
$14.99 (Currency Conversion)
KC Roberts is 6 feet, 7 inches of cool... in all the best ways. A leader in Toronto's live funk scene, KC is an amazing talent whether singing, guitar-slinging or throwin' down as MC with his hotter-than-hell 7 piece band.
It All Went Down was recorded in 2005 and is KC's first release. I have fond memories of this line-up blowing the minds of thousands of Black-Eyed Peas fans during the summer of 2005, at the Molson Amphitheatre. Outstanding tracks include A Man Named Smooth, Maria and Higher. (Details)

SAM HELL "sam Hell"
$14.99 (Currency Conversion)
Hailing from Toronto via Edmonton, sam Hell's debut album is a great find.
sam Hell is an "album" in the old school sense and deserves a full listen from beginning to end. "You Don't Say" is the first single, and "In The City" and "In The Future" are great tracks, but they sound even better in the context of the whole cd. Try it... you'll like it! (Details)

JUAN CARLOS CORONADO "RENEWAL"
$14.99 (Currency Conversion)
A scorching instrumental guitar album by JUAN CARLOS CORONADO, who was selected to perform at Guitar Player Magazines GUITAR HERO 2005 showdown at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.
The music on this album draws inspiration from the music Juan grew up with in his native Columbia, as well as the metallic shred of players such as Joe Satriani and Steve Vai.
Juan is an amazing performer - I saw him perform at the Guitar Hero Event - and this album certainly does him justice. Highly recommended! (Details)
